THE FLAME  (Book #2 in the Sparkler Series) – Coming Soon

KrossRoads (WIP)

Demonic infestation has become an epidemic, undoubtedly due to human curiosity in the paranormal. It’s time someone stepped up and put the demons back where they belong. I have an edgy paranormal romance set in the Midwest traveling the muddy Mississippi river, entitle KROSSROADS. It’s a third person narration of Karsten Kross, the handsome virginal ex- priest turned rouge exorcist and Bree, a spirited and beautiful investigator for Styx Paranormal Investigations (S.P.I.)

Karsten may have lost the church but not his faith. His unnatural ability to control even the highest echelon of demons wasn’t considered and asset to the church, but it was to humanity and that’s why he had to leave. A descendant of Solomon, he is able to find the possessed and expel the demons back to the hell they were born. Content with his calling, he wasn’t looking for a partner, he didn’t want to need her, but she was there and the connection between them unlike any he’d ever imagined.

Bree was determined to find and destroy the evil that tormented her family and killed her brother.  New to S.P.I. she hadn’t discovered their lack of compassion and desire for money and fanfare. The first case took them to Thebes IL where she encountered a familiar demon, it knew her, and it knew her brother. After years of searching, she was so close to the answers.  Without warning, without invitation, Karsten Kross appears and expels the one thing she wanted.

Learning the truth about S.P.I. was disheartening, but meeting Karsten refueled her ambition. He was the key to discovering the truth about her family and herself. Ignoring his objections, Bree follows Karsten, she needs his help and he can’t admit how much he wants her.

In the end Karsten and Bree will face evil together, find piece and the love they never thought possible.

Heartless

MyBannerMaker_Banner (2) After New Years Eve of her 17th year, Dixon Bennet became heartless. With a curse bestowed upon her by the Wicked Witch of the West End, Dixon is left a human skeleton, with a sunken face, no pulse, and nothing but bare ribs apparent below her neck. Not only is she heartless, but she is now alone.

So she sets out to the one place where maybe she can strike some luck—London.

Soon she meets Silas, a cellist cursed for his perpetual cowardice and forced to wear a mask and tuxedo  to cover his transparent body.  Silas takes Dixon in and the duo make do with what they can, continuing  to run Silas’s music shop and steadfastly ignoring that their curses are growing stronger. However, soon    they meet Matthias, a boy cursed with a stolen memory, and  it becomes apparent that they must go search  for the Wizard, perhaps the only person capable of reversing the Witch’s curses.
The trio soon embarks on a perilous journey  with only a pair of silver shoes, a rather rude talking crow,  and cryptic anonymous riddles to lead the way.  Now the group must somehow persuade a long dormant  and angry Wizard to help them before their curses unravel their very being.
No Dorothy is coming to save the day in this steampunk Wizard of Oz, it’s up to the Heartless, Cowardly, and Brainless to change their own fates. Or else they shall be forever Cursed and forever HEARTLESS.[ a work in progress currently being critiqued by the Lit Ladies]

The True Meaning of Carpe Diem

Carmen Lafayette’s life was a stained glass window. Fragile, delicate, beautiful. Until a severe concussion saddles her with epilepsy right after high school graduation and that window is shattered forever. When Carmen has trouble coping with the symptoms of her new-found illness, she must grudgingly stay home for the first semester of college while all of her friends go off to school without her.

Well, almost all of her friends…

Louis Morton, Carmen’s best friend since childhood, had the world before him. With the smarts and money to afford any school he wanted, only greatness was expected of Louis. However, right after graduation Louis announces that he doesn’t intend to go to college at all, instead he’s enrolled himself at the seminary to train to become a priest. Carmen is shocked by Louis’s verbal curve ball, and Louis’s family is outraged. Soon Louis finds himself on the brink of being disowned and more confused than ever.

Carmen, meanwhile, grows more depressed with every pop of a pill and every seizure she has no hope to predicts or control; Carmen decides running away from her sucky existence and the test results that may spell “brain-tumor” is the only solution left. So gathering up the socially-ostracized Louis,  together both of them run away for one final chance to put old demons to rest and find a way to deal with the daunting future before them. Together in one crazy road-trip of a lifetime, Louis and Carmen kill their fears, wish on their wishes, break some rules, question their direction, and find the true meaning of Carpe Diem.
