It’s St. Patrick’s Day! Let’s have a little fun with a top 3 list:

Top 3 Ways to Show You are Unique

  1. Don’t do the Ice Bucket Challenge: What’s this you say? The ice bucket challenge is long gone–yes, true, but there’s always something like it on social media that encourages you to do what everyone else is doing; comment if you see blue/brown, make a list of 365 things you are thankful for, etc. You don’t have to, and actually the people who got the most attention and raised a lot of money for a good cause were people who thought outside the box with the ice bucket challenge. (Full disclosure: this was not me. I did pour a bucket of water over my head after much debating that I wasn’t going to do it.)
  2. Only Like Something Because You Like It: I know this advice is not earth shattering, but sometimes it helps to hear the obvious. If you love Converse high tops, then wear them. If you love earrings, then get your ears pierced. If you want a tattoo and you are 18, go for it. But ONLY¬† if YOU want it. Only if you like it. Even as adults we feel pressure to like something because everyone else is liking it: you see a picture on social media–you think it’s gross, everyone else likes it, and it is so easy just to push like too. It’s okay not to like what everyone else does.
  3. Just Be Yourself: You are the ONLY you there is. So if you are just being yourself, you are being unique. It is hard sometimes to let people in and show our personality to the world, especially for introverts. But that’s okay. Be an introvert then. Be outgoing if you are. Just be yourself and be unique.
